Katherine Blackmore is a freelance artist with over 25 years experience as an illustrator, animator, and teacher. Having graduated with an illustration degree from The Cleveland Institute of Art, she began her career designing cards and holiday products for American Greetings. From there, she interned with and was hired by The Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio in Florida. Katherine was a Clean Up Artist for 8 years and has screen credits on a number of films including Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. After the Florida studio closed, Katherine began teaching, first at The Montessori World School then at Full Sail University. She currently teaches children in the Creative Core Art Program, which she founded. Along with teaching art, she is creating art for children. Katherine has illustrated several picture books, working with Amazon Children’s Publishing, Scarletta Press, B&H Kids Publishing, Treasure Bay, Deseret Book, Akashic Books, and Good Night Our World. She lives in Orlando, FL with her husband, two black cats, some lazy fish, and a tortoise named Walter.

Katherine has illustrated 9 picture books, working with Amazon Children’s Publishing, Scarletta Press, B&H Kids Publishing, Treasure Bay, and Good Night Our World Books. She lives in Orlando, FL with her husband, Eric; they have 3 cats who could substitute for the 3 bears: one is too big, one is too thin, one is just right.
